ATEEZ World Tour The Fellowship: Break the Wall in Singapore
9th September 2023 is a day Singaporean ATINYs (official name for ATEEZ’s fans) will definitely have etched in their hearts for a long time. On this day, ATEEZ set the Singapore Indoor Stadium stage on fire, as they performed their hearts out for fans on our sunny island for the very first time.
Before we go into the concert recap, we felt it important to mention ATEEZ’s tremendous success for this world tour thus far. The 8-member group kicked off their ‘The Fellowship: Break the Wall” world tour in Seoul back in October 2022, and have since sold out dozens of venues in Asia, North America, Europe and Latin America, not forgetting that some encore stages were also added in between. Singapore was actually their 43rd time “breaking the wall” since the tour started and will end in Manila with a total of 44 stages on 16th September. Their unwavering passion to keep their promise and greet fans across the world through the stage in itself deserves high praise.
The venue was buzzing with excitement from the start as excited ATINYs sang along to the group’s songs as they eagerly awaited for their arrival. The mysterious yet haunting introduction melody of “Halazia” ringed through the stadium and the members appeared clad in black robes. This opening stage set the bar high for the whole night with how the group’s powerful vocals and rap verses were complemented by dynamic choreography that left the audience spellbound.

ATEEZ proceeded to greet ATINYs, expressing their excitement about performing in Singapore for the first time and even made use of Singlish phrases they prepared to better connect with the local audience. “Answer”, “The Ring” and “HALA HALA” followed, and although they were only four songs into the night, the atmosphere in the venue had reached an unprecedented level of tension.
From the cheers, it was obvious how ATINYs also enjoyed the visually captivating VCRs of the group which served as a smooth transition between different segments of the show. The show shifted to a slower tempo, as the members reappeared dressed in dreamy white outfits performing “Dazzling Light”, “MIST”, “Aurora” and “Sunrise”. During “Sunrise”, Wooyoung who was busy interacting with fans missed the cue to head back to the main stage lift and the adorable interactions between the members as they teased his cute mistake left us all giggling in our seats, making for an unforgettable concert memory.

To ensure that fans were kept engaged between segments, members would take turns to stay behind to chat, and things like inflatable bouncy balls were also released to the crowd to incorporate an element of fun. “Illusion” and “Wave” followed, and their playful choreography and catchy tunes had ATINYs happily dancing and singing along the whole time.
The stage production and powerful dance performances made the next segment our favourite of the night. The group performed “WIN”, “Horizon” and fan favourite “WONDERLAND (Symphony No.9 From the Wonderland)” which happened over the stage setting of a pirate ship concept, very fitting of the group’s roots and upbeat tempo of the songs. The members and dance crew even held stage props like swords and bows, adding an extra layer of depth to the performance, making it easy for the audience to get fully immersed in the pirate voyage theme.

The group then performed their latest release “BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILL PEPPERS)” and as a treat even chose lucky fans to do the Bouncy dance challenge with the members. “THANXX”, and a medley of “Good Lil Boy”, “The Leaders”, “To The Beat” and “Say My Name” kept the heated tension up in the stadium. A huge shout out to ATINYs who during the next song quite possibly (figuratively) burst our eardrums with how passionate and loud their “Guerrilla” break the wall fan chant was. We’re not kidding when we say we could actually hear a ringing in our ear after.
As the night came to a close, the group retuned to the stage for a final heart-pounding encore of “Turbulence”, “Celebrate”, “From” and “The Real”, ending the night on an all time high note. ATINYs’ banner fan project during Turbulence reading “we’ll meet again no matter how many lifetimes there may be, we promise you” made for the perfect segue to the close. ATEEZ replied to the fan project by expressing their gratitude towards ATINYs’ unwavering support for them. At this point, another thing we'd like to commend was how the group prepared all their commentary between stages in English, a simple but powerful gesture to further connect with fans.

Leader and better known as Captain of the group Hongjoong shared: “Thank you so much for always cheering for us when we do anything. On this tour, we keep thinking about our ATINYs, what we have to show or what our ATINYs want to see from us, but today I forgot all my worries because of you.”
Yeosang: “First of all, being able to perform in Singapore makes me really happy. It’s actually my second time in Singapore, I visited back in high school previously and it was very beautiful then but Singapore with ATINYs in it is even more beautiful. We promise to always strive to bring you good music and performances, let’s meet again next time and I love you.”
Seonghwa: “Actually when I was young, my parents always told me that Singapore is beautiful, so San, Yeosang and I looked around the streets yesterday and it was exactly (like they said) it was so beautiful, but I think ATINYs are prettier. Thank you for coming here and thank you for coming into my life, I hope to see you again.”
Yunho: “Thank you for making such happy memories with us tonight, our ATINYs. I really wanted to come here and it makes me so happy to be able to meet you up close. The fan event you prepared was very touching. Like what it says, no matter how many lifetimes I have and how many times I’m reborn again I promise to be the Yunho who sings and performs for all of you. Thank you so much!”.

Although it was a pity that the youngest member of the team Jongho was not able to join ATEEZ on stage due to his leg injury, the members made sure to give in their 110% to make up for his absence. It touched us to see the members representing him through small gestures between songs, showcasing their love for him and the team’s unbreakable bond. A big shoutout to ATINYs who of course missed him the most, you all are the real MVPs for singing along and filling in for his parts in every song. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you on our sunny shores next time, Jongho!
ATEEZ not only broke the wall, but thoroughly shattered our expectations and left an unforgettable impression on anyone who was fortunate enough to get to witness them perform that night. The group’s passion for music and dedication to their craft was evident and this concert was definitely that of something beyond just a musical experience. It remains as one of the highlights of my writing career and I look forward with great anticipation to witnessing ATEEZ’s ongoing growth in the K-pop industry and the distinctive music sound that they will undoubtedly continue to deliver in the years ahead.
We would like to extend our thanks to Unusual Entertainment for giving us the opportunity to cover this event.
