b.I HYPE UP TOUR IN SINGAPORE 2024
B.I is no stranger to Singapore as this marks the 3rd year in a row he’s been back to our sunny island. On 7th June, IDs welcomed him back for his “Hype Up” tour at Capitol Theatre. The night started off on a high with fast-beat tracks ‘Michelangelo’, ‘Alive’, ‘One and Only’ and ‘Waterfall’.
B.I happily greeted the fans, and mentioned how his “English teacher is on a trip now so (he’d) speak in half Korean and half English.” Hyping up the crowd by practicing the catchy lyrics of his songs together, hit songs like ‘ill illa’, ‘Loved’, ‘Numb’, ’4 Letters’, ‘BTBT’ and ‘Keep Me Up’ followed. The crowd evidently had a blast jamming to the music, as B.I said: “it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other in person right? To be honest I forgot a bit about your energy, that’s my bad, but I can tell, you guys are amazing, and I promise I won’t forget”.
In between sets and during certain songs, B.I would playfully interact with fans with his witty banter, and even closed the physical gap between them by walking around the main floor. During this, he took the time to initiate fan service with IDs, much to their delight, as he paused for photos, gave out hugs, and even held their hands mid-song. He further expressed how he had also tried to find ways to come up to the second floor to greet fans who were seated there too but sadly could not find a solution.
Additionally, B.I’s fellow rookie label-mate Leo also joined B.I on stage for their collaborative track "Pretty Plzzz”. We really enjoyed his smooth vocals as he showcased his songs ‘Come Closer’ and ‘Farewell', where he mentioned the latter track was written by B.I.

As the night progressed, ‘Tasty’, ‘To Die’, ‘TTM’, ‘Flame’, ‘Lover’ and even a medley of ‘접속’, ‘Born Hater’ and ‘Smoke’ kept IDs on their toes. There was barely a moment of rest as ‘Nineteen’, ‘The Island of Misfit Toys’, ‘Die for Love’, ‘All Shook Up’, ‘Wave’ and ‘Beautiful Life’ followed.
What pleasantly surprised us however, was how the night was far from over. His encore setlist practically matched the length of the main set. From remixes of previously performed songs, to unreleased demo tracks he had written during the other stops of his tour, we can’t express enough how lucky IDs are.
To B.I’s surprise, IDs also prepared a VCR fan project which happened during the photo taking segment. The video tugged at our heartstrings, as the words “you’ve done so well today, in return, we prepared a little something for you. We heard you like to hear IDs sing..so rest a bit while we do a sing-along for you” popped up on screen and fans starting singing along to “4 Letters”. B.I relayed his gratitude and mentioned how IDs’ voice are “number one”.

It’s one thing to say you’re grateful for the people who support you but to be able to put those words into actions is another. We could very evidently feel how much B.I cherished IDs today just from his little gestures and words to fans, not forgetting his entire setlist that hit close to a whopping 50 songs.
It is always a pleasure watching someone with so much love for their craft perform on stage, and we look forward to continue witnessing B.I's growth as a person and artiste in the future.
