Welcome warm weather with Busan's flea markets
Dongcheon Ginkgo Tree Street Market
Featuring about 50 booths offering an array of handmade products, the Dongcheon Gingko Tree Street Flea Market is held every weekend from April through December.
Located at the intersection of Seomyeon, Busan's central downtown district, and Jeonpo-dong, home of the trendy Jeonpo Cafe Street area, this market stretches about 120 meters, from NC Department Store to Norimaru, the former Jungang Middle School.
The Dongcheon Gingko Tree Street Flea Market offers unique ambience created by the many roadside ginkgo trees that give the market its name. Items for sale include handmade silver earrings, leather bracelets, pouches, soap and fun caricature drawings made just for you.
The Dongcheon market offers different seasonal themes throughout the year, such as a night market in the summer and their popular autumn leaves festival in the fall.
The market debuted in 2015 and has been praised for its accessibility and variety. Grab a coffee or tea from one of the many fine Jeonpo Cafe Street shops nearby and enjoy.
- Hours: noon to 6 p.m. every weekend; later hours are offered during July and August.
- How to get there: Seomyeon Station (Metro lines 1 and 2), exit 6. Make a u-turn and turn right onto the next main road. Walk straight along the road and cross at the intersection toward the NC Department Store. Turn right and walk until you see the market.

40 Step Flea Market
A location steeped in the history of the Korean War offers not only a place to find interesting items, but also an opportunity to remember and respect the past.
The 40 Step Flea Market, open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday through late November, offers locals an opportunity during lunch to buy handicrafts and household items from local artists and residents. A community-direct trading market for agricultural products also operates alongside the flea market.
The 40 Step Flea Market is located around the 40-step Culture and Tourism Theme Street, which was created to honor the area's importance to refugees during and after the Korean War, which began in 1950 and ended with the signing of an armistice agreement in 1953.

- How to get there: Jungang Station (Metro line 1), exit 11. Walk into the alley on the right outside of the exit.
Market Ooom
F1963 is an abandoned factory recently transformed into a fun-filled cultural destination. One of their premier events is the festival-themed Market Ooom flea market, held once every few months.
The flea market's slogan is "Bigger Joy from Togetherness." While a DJ plays music, artistic performances mingle with food sales, which perfectly represents the organizers' intentions for a fun, casual event for everyone involved. Past markets have included a Christmas party theme and a family-friendly market focusing on children's play programs. Between 80 to 120 vendors have participated in the markets, with organizers utilizing Instagram to gain a following.
- Hours: This market is held every two-to-three months. Dates and more information are announced on Instagram (@sapoon_).
- How to get there: Suyeong Station (Metro lines 2 and 3), exit 5. Take bus No. 54 and get off at the Sanjeong Apt./KISWIRE bus stop. The road to F1963 can be found next to Costco.

- How to get there: Pusan National University Station (Metro line 1), exit 3. Access the market via the stairway leading below the station.

Ardor Market
Enjoy the pleasant shade of blooming trees at Ardor Market, on Oncheoncheon Cafe Street.
Reopened in March after moving from its previous location in Marine City in Haeundae, Ardor Market has something for everyone every weekend afternoon. Cooperatives were formed to recruit sellers and run the market. Its spring market has been dubbed "Blossom Market," and the beautiful stream area is a perfect location to shop while taking in cherry blossoms.
In addition to its main location along the stream, the market occasionally travels to festival locations, as well. Those locations and event schedules can be found on the market's Instagram page, (@busan_vespa), where weekly announcements are also posted.
- Hours: every weekend afternoon. The market might close depending on conditions without any notice.
- How to get there: Blossom Market stalls are set up along Oncheoncheon Cafe Street between Yeonsan-gyo (bridge) and Allak-gyo. Take bus No. 210 at exit 3 of Suyeong Station and get off at Allak Kyeongdong Apartment bus stop. Walk toward the stream.
Earthling Market
Earthling Market was launched by people interested in selling products in ways that both celebrate and work toward protecting the earth.
The market is held under the theme of "relaxing weekend outings for fatigued citizens." There are second-hand products like toys, books and records, homemade handicrafts and household supplies, like soaps, candles, bracelets and rings, as well as hands-on booths and busking performances.
The market's name stems from the organizers' intentions to prevent unnecessary waste through recycling and other forms of conservation.
The Earthling Market was previously located at Songsanghyeon Square in Yangjeong-dong but will be in a new location this year. That location and operation hours are yet to be confirmed. They will be announced on the market's official website, cafe.naver.com/webuywesell.
