Lee Je Hoon 'VACATION' Fanmeet in singapore
Just a week ago, South Korean actor Lee Je Hoon, also known as 'Kim Do-gi' in 'Taxi Driver' held his first fan meet in Singapore. Looking stunning in a fitting black suit and white collared top, he greeted his fans in a cosy and intimate setting in the heart of town, at the Stephen Riady Auditorium @ NTUC Centre. Unbeknownst to fans, this is actually his second time in Singapore, with the first being a year ago. He enjoyed his time so much that he decided to return this year for his fanmeet!
Sat in the middle of the stage, he started off the fan meet with a personal chit-chat session with the fans, asking them for recommendations on locations to visit in Singapore (props to the witty fans who immediately yelled 'MY HOUSE!'). Sharing about his schedule over the past months, he shed light on the intensity of his commitments. However, his desire to return the love from his fans by meeting everyone face to face overcame his busy schedule ("even if I'm busy, it's worth it"). His favourite memories during his fan tour? He enjoys meeting fans the most, and even tries to take photos so that he will always remember the little moments.
Other personal anecdotes include his visit to Sentosa the day before for the press conference. He expressed his love for the place, and regret that he was not able to spend as much time as he would have liked to. The host jokingly asked fans if they'd be willing to be his tour guides, to which they cheered in agreement. Je Hoon also hinted at a new acting project coming soon, themed around financial crime. Fans can look forward to him wearing a suit, and even speaking in English, something that he is practising hard for now.

The conversation then shifted to his favourite food in Singapore, which is Chicken Rice! Je Hoon was amazed at the variety and quality of the food in Singapore, saying that it drives him crazy, and he especially loves that everything yummy is in one place here. When asked to recommend the best Korean food, he expressed surprise once again at the variety of Korean food in Singapore (he must've chanced upon the Korean street in Tanjong Pagar!). He felt that we probably wouldn't have to visit Korea just for Korean food considering what we have here.
That being said, his favourite Korean food is Street Food, which includes Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes), Odeng (Fishcakes) and Kimbap. The actor also mentioned that Pepper Crab and Chilli Crab are his comfort food in Singapore, joking that he should be sad more often to have a reason to fly to Singapore just to indulge in these dishes. We can easily tell that he loves Singapore, and he even said he might consider moving here in future. He'd probably have plenty of accommodation options, since fans willingly volunteered their houses. The actor wittily played along, saying that house-hopping is an option, so that he'd be able to meet more fans.
He continued teasing the fans, casually stating that he either wears really thin clothes or doesn't wear a top in Summer due to the heat in Korea, and even stood up to unbutton his top to give the fans a preview of his abs, and did a live demo of a wake up call for fans to use as an alarm!

He showed his down-to-earth personality too, because like many of us, he enjoys lying in bed to peruse different channels and trailers before falling asleep. Je Hoon even brought up snippets of his personal life, such as how his close childhood friends are mainly married or have kids, making it hard to meet up. However, their latest text message is to organise a gathering and they'd be meeting up at his place soon!
They used to also play baseball together when they were younger. Initially, they thought of meeting up to play baseball together, but admitted that it's harder for them to do that now, so he wants to travel with them instead.
Coming to the topic of his latest drama and sequel, Taxi Driver 2, he gave insights to the storyline, such as how it will focus on more fun, comedic and interesting moments between the characters. He also gave a little spoiler (which we won't share here, catch the drama to find out!). Je Hoon then did a live demo of his workout routine, doing pushups, crunches and twists with ease before showing a sneak preview of his abs. He claims he doesn't have them now but we beg to differ!

Another thing he loves is walking while travelling. He made multiple references to this during the fan meet, stating that it helps him to calm down and relax. As he felt safe in Singapore, it's also an activity he enjoys while he's here, and he even visits 7-Eleven for drinks to accompany his walks. Fans recommended Milo, Ice Kachang and Super Rings and Je Hoon confirmed that he'd try to get them on the way back after the event.
This concluded the first segment of the fan concert, but the man of many talents immediately took over the stage and sang "Thick and Thin" by LANY. His visuals and sweet voice captivated the fans, who waved their arms and swayed along as he sung, bringing the atmosphere to an all time high.

Je Hoon momentarily left the stage and returned in a cute outfit with a ribbon around his neck ("my stylist chose it specially for Singapore!"). The next segment was 'This or That', where he had to choose between two options on the screen. Some questions he gave answers to are 'planning ahead or travelling freely when on vacation', 'preferred travel style', and whether he'd chose to sleep in an accommodation where big cockroaches show up, or one famous for having ghosts. To the latter, he responded that he chooses the ghosts, because he's able to catch cockroaches but not actually touch them, while he's never actually seen a ghost before.
He answered several more questions (visit our Twitter Thread for his detailed responses), before the final activity, where fans got to play a game with him. This involved them holding up their hands in the air, in the shape of Xs or Os depending on their answer to questions on the screen. The last fans standing would then get a chance to go up on stage for a selfie with the man himself!
Questions included 'the date he was released from National Service', the number of siblings he had, and even the gender of the kids his sister has. Three fans proved their loyalty and were rewarded with a selfie and a hug (!!) from the actor while the other fans looked on enviously. As everyone was reluctant to see him go, they chanted "encore!" and he did a little dance, giving a preview of his adorable dance moves.

Je Hoon concluded the fanmeet by showing appreciation for his fans and saying that he will try his best to showcase more works so he can return again soon. He went off the stage (not before waving his last goodbyes and even giving a heart), then returned for a send off session with the ticket holders, before ending off with the photo session with Cat 1 ticket holders.
His bright and cheerful personality really shone through during this fanmeet and we hope to be able to catch him again soon!
