MAMAMOO+ 1ST FAN CONCERT TWO RABBITS CODE in SINGAPORE
On 15 November 2023, MAMAMOO+ (comprising of members Solar and Moonbyul) the official sub-unit of MAMAMOO successfully wrapped up their first fan concert “ TWO RABBITS CODE” at The Star Theatre.
Donned in red as per the pre-released dress code for the night and with their distinctive radish-shaped cheering light sticks, Moomoos (official fan club of MAMAMOO) anxiously awaited the reunion with the duo since MAMAMOO’s ‘My Con’ tour stop in Singapore back in February.
Cheers erupted as a loud voice narrated the story of two rabbits in Aniri, a Korean traditional vocal genre of pansori. The duo then opened with ‘Chico Malo’, their digital single first released in March.

MAMAMOO+ expressed how they missed Singapore Moomoos as they happily recalled memories of their previous experiences back on our sunny island, from vlogging during their trip in February, to singing the local folk song ‘Singapura, Oh, Singapura’ during ‘Music Bank in Singapore’ back in 2017. Solar further shared that Moonbyul would never fail to sing this song whenever they visited Singapore, and that she had already started humming the tune the moment they touched down.
Renowned for their exceptional live performances and vocal skills, the duo certainly lived up to expectations that evening as they performed ‘I LIKE THIS’, ‘Starry Night’, ‘Starry Sea’, ‘GGBB’, and ‘BADA BOOM’. During the dance break in ‘GGBB’, there were some technical difficulties causing the music to cut off midway but the girls barely showed any signs of getting flustered and continued performing even without instrumentals, showcasing their professionalism as artists.
The mid-show video intermissions were cleverly elevated to be interactive through the use of QR codes, where upon scanning, fans could download a green or white version of a card to be used in later segments of the show. The first video had Moomoos chuckling in their seats as the playful duo tried to “escape a maze” through missions like friendship quizzes and karaoke challenges.

During their individual stages, Solar showcased her vocal prowess by presenting her solo hits, including 'Adrenaline' (the official OST from the drama Vincenzo), 'Spit it Out,' and ‘HONEY.’ She effortlessly hit high notes even in the midst of fast-paced dance routines, leaving fans captivated.
Meanwhile, Moonbyul's performance versatility was evident in her renditions of 'Ddu Ddu Ddu' 'C.I.T.T (Cheese in the Trap)’, and ‘Shutdown’, highlighting her adeptness in handling a wide range of music genres.

The next segment was an interactive question balance game with fans - ‘Two Rabbits Card!’. Using the green and white cards they had previously downloaded to signify their choice, Moomoos needed to accurately guess 2 out of 3 presented questions to receive a “special gift”.
The first question made the members choose between ‘drinking water from the Merlion statue’ and ‘eating Marine Bay Sands as if it’s a baguette’ if they could take only one photo at Singapore’s iconic photo spots. Much to Moomoos’ surprise, the duo chose the latter option. Moonbyul later explained that she thought the second pose would be easier and would look more elegant as compared to the first.
When asked to choose between chilli crab and black pepper crab, the girls did not hesitate to choose chilli crab, and repeatedly expressed their love for the local dish. Their last question was to choose between ‘Dang Dang’ and Two Rabbits’ as the song they want to hear Singapore Moomoos singing along to, and it was the only question where they had divided answers. They both expressed how they thought Moomoos would like to hear each song since they have yet to perform them in front of their Singapore audience. Getting 2 out of 3 questions right, fans were treated to a KPOP dance medley of popular hit songs like New Jeans’ Hype Boy and Super Shy, ‘Smoke’ from hit TV series Street Woman Fighter 2, BTS Jungkook’s ‘Seven’, Aespa’s ‘Spicy’, Le Sserafim’s ‘Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s Wife’, (G)I-DLE’s ‘Queencard’, IVE’s ‘I AM’, and more.

The duo performed ‘Save Me’, ‘I Love Too’, and ‘LLL’ next, slowing down the tempo of the show. Their sharp eyes noticed fans pulling out banners mid-song which read “I have always loved you, I love you, and I will love you, let’s meet each other for a long time” for a fan-prepared event at dissociated timings so the girls jokingly teased Moomoos that they missed the timing for the event, showing their close-knit relationship with their fans. Playfully giving fans a “second chance” to redo the event, the duo turned their backs and acted surprised saying “oh my gosh, timing is so good, wow!” bringing laughter to the audience. Jokes aside, both Solar and Moonbyul expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Moomoo’s sweet gesture.
Solar: “I am very happy to be able to meet Singapore Moomoos again through MAMAMOO+’s Two Rabbits Code tour.”
Moonbyul: “I really liked that we could meet Singapore Moomoos again before the year ends. Thank you for greeting us so warmly when you heard that we were coming again."
Solar: “We know how you feel, so as much as you love us, please also stay healthy so that we can see each other for a longer time. Since we arrived at the airport we’ve received such a warm welcome, and even here at this venue your loud cheers will definitely make us remember Singapore for a long time.”

The fan concert slowly came to a close as they performed the full unreleased version of ‘Two Rabbits’, and ‘dangdang’ from their latest album. The encore stages had undoubtedly the loudest cheers, especially during the MAMAMOO song medley of ‘Dingga’, ‘HIP’ and ‘Décalcomanie’. As fan service, the duo also went down stage to get close and interact with Moomoos during ‘Promise U’ and ‘Like Yesterday' much to fans’ delight. The night ended on a high note with hit song ‘Um Oh Ah Yeh’.
Thank you MAMAMOO+ for an unforgettable night filled with wonderfully staged live performances and much laughter. We hope to see you again next year!
