Before the fanmeet, the EXID members attended a press conference to answer some popular questions asked by fans and the Media. The members walked in for the press conference, dress in matching red and black checkered outfits and they all look really pretty in real life, it was almost surreal. Smiling brightly and waving to the cameras, they introduced themselves as a group before answering the questions posed.
One of the first few questions were directed at EXID’s recently debuted mini album, “Eclipse”. It has obtained No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart! The girls mentioned that they could not believe that it made it to the top 10 on the Billboard Chart and are really thankful for the fans who gave EXID their love. They believe that it was LEGGOs who motivated them and made this possible. It is also an event that reminds them to work harder to become a better group.
EXID’s goal in 2017 is to meet lots of fans from many different countries and to be able to talk and connect with them. They also wish that they would be able to have a comeback together as a whole group.

Since it was EXID’s first time in Singapore, they were very excited to be here and were really happy when they were greeted by many fans at the airport the previous day. If given the chance to, LE shared that she would love to try out all the delicious food in Singapore while Jeonghwa would like to see our iconic merlion and take a touristy photo with it.
EXID seems to be like a family and many fans are curious as to what the individual roles of the members are in a family. After a discussion filled with laughter, the members concluded that LE is like a grandmother, Hyerin the mother, Junghwa the nice daughter, Hani the jobless uncle while Solji is like the other older grandmother of the group.

After a discussion filled with laughter, the members concluded that LE is like a grandmother, Hyerin the mother, Junghwa the nice daughter, Hani the jobless uncle while Solji is like the other older grandmother of the group.
LEGGOs may also wonder if EXID is different onstage and offstage. They feel that they appear to be more serious and sexier onstage than offstage. EXID also shared that they would love to explore a more girly concept as a group in the future. Jeonghwa says that many people think that her ambition is to debut as a solo singer, but that is not true. She wishes to perform bright and upbeat songs, preferably in a pink tennis skirt and nicely done hair, with a cute and fun concept. LE would like to do a duet with Hani and show the world what a girl crush or cool older sister is like.
When asked about their most memorable moment as a group while touring, EXID shared that it was when they were able to hear LEGGO’s opinion for the first time. Before releasing the album with the song “L.I.E.”, EXID had a little small gathering with the fans in which they performed the song for the first time. The fans found it really exciting, interesting and fun and so did EXID members as they heard and saw the fans’ reactions. EXID wishes to be a group that gives strength and hope to the people who listens to their music.
As Hani was previously on the “Baek Jong-won” cooking show, one significant tip that Hani learnt was that when frying a chicken, you have to fold its wings or else it will all get burnt. Traces of her goofy personality emerged as she did a cute imitation of folding chicken wings as she shared the tip with us, evoking laughs from the audience. However, Hani feels that her cooking skills cannot be compared to the other members and went on to talk about how Hyelin is actually the best cook in EXID. Hyelin loves baking and eating, and the members agree that she cooks in the best food in the group.
LE does not cook a lot but amongst all the food that she has cooked for Hani, Hani likes the pasta she cooks the most. Jeonghwa is not really good at cooking but she proudly puts her thumbs up as LE claims that Jeonghwa can cook the perfect instant noodles and is able to get the perfect ratio of water in the noodles.

If the girls had to choose one food to eat for the rest of their lives, LE and Hani chose Ramyeon and potato chips respectively without hesitation while Jeonghwa chooses Korean Chicken soup. Hyerin decided that she would want mackerel, after much contemplation and prompting of other miscellaneous food from Hani, resulting in laughter between the girls as they teased her for her indecisiveness.
The members laughing and discussing during the Press Conference
The press conference was casual and often filled with the girls’ contagious laughter and occasionally cheeky antics. The bright side of EXID you see on TV is definitely not staged as the girls are as comical and bubbly real life as well. All the members took the effort to attentively listen to the press members, to the extent of leaning forward, looking them in the eye and even thanking them after each question. Hani was even doing fanservice by shooting hearts and winks at the cameras. It was heartwarming to see that they were also constantly joking around with each other and teasing one another, as it shows how close they are as a group, they also looked out for each other. They did not show any trace of being tired and kept up with their fanservice and energy, all while maintaining a cheerful atmosphere throughout the fanmeeting, which we are all very thankful for. We love the girls’ friendly and adorable personality and we hope to see them again soon!
Fanmeet
EXID’s Fan meeting was held at Kallang Theatre on 15 July 2017. It was EXID’s first time here in Singapore and we were really excited to see them interact with us Singaporean fans in real life. Cat 1 ticket holders, were entitled to bring home a 4R photo (Group photo of 25) and Hi Touch with EXID at the end of the event!
We felt the love and dedication of the fans as some LEGGOs have prepared pretty transparent photocards and fans of different designs to give out to the audiences waiting to enter the theatre. There were even A4 sized banners with the words, “Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, We’ll always be by your side” in Korean, as part of a banner event during the fanmeeting.

The fanmeet started off on a high note as the first three songs performed were all their title tracks, L.I.E., Ah Yeah and Hot Pink. There were thunderous roars and even extremely loud fanchants that filled the arena (“Pink! Hot! Pink! Hot!”), lit with pink lightsticks. It was a really pretty sight.
EXID then reappeared on stage after the performances and and the host started off the next segment of their fanmeeting - a game that was designed to be interactive and fun, for both the audience and EXID themselves.
The members were tasked to wear headphones and listen to popular tracks that are related to Singapore, and they had to hum or sing the songs, while the fans guessed what these songs were. Lucky fans that were chosen by EXID to answer the questions, and got the answer correct, would then receive an autographed EXID album, together with loads of fanservice and even a “congratulations” song sung by none other than EXID themselves, as they retrieved the prize at the foot of the stage.
It was extremely comical as the members had looks of confusion spread across their entire face, both while they were listening to the music and while listening to the other members try to replicate the tune of the music. The task proved to be of high difficulty, especially when some songs were Chinese songs, including “Ru Yan” by Olivia Ong (the theme song for The Little Nyonya) and “Bu Wei Shui Er Zuo De Ge” by JJ Lin.
We were especially impressed by Hani, who managed to pronounce several Chinese words accurately, and got the precise tune when she attempted to sing “Ru Yan”, as well as JeongHwa who mimed the playing of drums and violins as she hummed “Cao Cao” by JJ Lin. We were also able to witness the different tactics the fans used to garner the attention of the members (so that they would get picked), and several highlights include wearing a tie-dyed shirt, donning a Pikachu Onesie, using the phone flashlight as well as a fanboy that was constantly waving and swinging a pink cap like a lasso. All of them got called up on stage by the members. Now, we all know what to do to attract an Idol’s attention.

The second segment was the greatest test of luck (or maybe fate?). The EXID members were to personally decorate a shirt each, and it was up to them to be creative and artistic. We could see how the members differed a lot in terms of artistic talent and creativity, as well as the way they chose to express themselves artistically. Hyelin drew a simple heart shape initially, before drawing a girl with heart shaped eyes and a cute puppy, while writing “Hyelin Loves You” on the shirt. Hani on the other hand, chose to add some local flavours into her shirt (quite literally) as she drew (or attempted to draw) Chilli Crab, which turned out to be a lobster. After much teasing from LE, she drew another crab, now correctly, and added a fish alongside it, claiming that they were all friends. She also painted a cute tiger on the shirt.
Jeonghwa drew a pretty sunflower and attempted to draw a girl holding her arms above her head to form a heart. However, she was disappointed with how the final product turned out, exclaiming that “the hands look weird”. LE appeared to be the most artistically inclined as she perfectly replicated the music note tattoo that was on her arm, and even included the words “I Love Singapore”. She was also the first member to complete her masterpiece, and promoted excited screams from the audience as she personally signed the shirt on stage. LE even went on to kiss the shirt, intending for it to leave a print but did not. The host humorously added that it was a good lipstick that would not budge and fans were still swooning over the kissed shirt. Four lucky fans got to walk away with the shirts after the lucky draw.

EXID returned backstage and reappeared soon after, clad in white coats. The host hinted that it would include a special performance, which they have not performed even in Korea, and sure enough, they performed "How Why", "Night Rather Than Day" and "Boy". Right before the last song, the members also individually did acts of cuteness (aegyo) and LE did a sexy dance, along to self-made music by her fellow groupmates.
Just as Jeonghwa cutely introduced the last song, the entire concert theatre dimmed and a video flashed on screen. The members were taken by surprise (and slight embarrassment) as their past videos slowly showed. Unknown to them, Singapore LEGGOs had prepared a video for them. All four members turned to face the screen and watched the video, which contained various footages from videos they filmed in the past, as well a a personal letter the fans wrote to them, which appeared as subtitles in both Korean and English. There were even videos of fans giving their heartfelt messages to the group. In the video, the fans thanked them for their hard work and continuous effort put into practicing so that they show their best side to the fans, and expressed their love and longing for Solji, who was absent for their activities, and that they would always wait for her, so that they can return as a group of five.
The entire video was extremely touching and everyone had a hard time holding back their tears, the entire audience was teary eyed right after. The video ended with the words “Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, We will always be by your side”, prompting the audience to hold up the banners previously received. It was heartwarming to see the entire stadium raising their banners, showing their love and support for the group. All four members were tearing up and wiping away their tears, and they had to take some time to compose themselves before turning back to the audience, only to be greeted with an entire theatre of raised banners.

It really touched our hearts to see how appreciative they were of their fans, and likewise their fans to them, and it really shows how much a group can impact their fandom. We could tell that the members were very touched by the video, and some of them still had tears welling in their eyes, and they were wiping their eyes as they thanked everyone. They even added that it would have been very nice if Solji was here with us, and that she would have cried the most. LE also mentioned that Hyelin and Jeonghwa rarely cried, but even they were crying after the video, and said that we did a great job. While introducing the final song, they joked that it would be a tearful “Up and Down” performed, and asked everyone to sing along and look forward to when they return again.
The fans really gave their all as they chanted the lyrics to “Up and Down”, to show their passion for the group before they leave. When the song ended, the lights turned on and the members said their goodbyes, while the fans chanted for an encore.
Their encore took everyone by surprise as they appeared from the back while singing “How Why”, walking along the aisles near the seats, which gave the fans the chance to be nearer to them. They ended off the fanmeeting on a high note as the members filmed with a Go Pro Camera and they got everyone to stand up together with them, before they bade their final farewells and disappeared backstage for good.
This was not the end for the Cat 1 ticket holders though, they still had a hi-touch and photo-taking session to look forward to. According to their rows, the fans were led in groups of 25 to the stage, where they sat down by the steps. EXID then joined them on the top row, for a group photo. The members varied their poses and even made the effort to do various comical poses, such as Hani and LE pretending to lift a signboard on stage with pained expressions on their faces. This continued until the very last group ended, whereby thereafter, was the hi-touch.

This was the chance for LEGGOs to really get up close with the group, and everyone took this chance, be it saying thank you to all the members, or conveying words that they have always wanted to tell the group. We were able to attend the hi-touch event as well, and it was really surreal being able to see them so close up. We could look into the eyes of each member and tell them thank you, and they too, looked genuinely grateful as they thanked each and every audience member for attending with bright smiles.
It was very heartwarming to see that EXID had a lot of love for their fans and are always expressing their gratitude, and it was great that they were true to their real personality as they are very cheerful and carefree, just like their personality on-screen. It was a great night and we hope that we would be able to see them back on our shores soon!
