lee dong wook press conference in singapore
Lee Dong Wook, who played the Grim Reaper in the Korean drama series Goblin, came to Singapore for a press conference on 15 April 2017 at Plaza Singapura.
Press Conference
The Grim Reaper, Lee Dong Wook, is finally in town again, after 6 years. Prior to his press conference, the weather was extremely unpredictable, fluctuating from sunny and hot to gloomy. This even prompted the host to joke that the Goblin (Gong Yoo) was jealous that he was not able to be in Singapore as well.
After the passionate cheers from the fans, Lee Dong Wook appeared, clad in a gray suit and white t-shirt. He looked stunning. He started off by greeting the fans, and smiling widely when they yelled “Saranghaeyo (I Love You)!” in response, before answering several questions from the host. When asked about his schedule in Singapore, he mentioned that he was only able to eat and rest in his hotel, resulting in him not having the chance to explore Singapore. He also made it a point to thank the fans for visiting him at the airport, and even apologised for not being able to interact with them for a longer period then due to security reasons and the fear of causing public disturbance.

He was also unable to try the various types of Singaporean food and the fans shouted that he should go to their houses so that they could cook for him, which he declined, giving the reason that there would be too many houses to visit. The host also asked him what super power he would like to have, seeing that he had possessed powers in the show “Goblin”. He responded with “teleportation”, as he would like to be able to not worry about transportation, and also because he would be able to appear in Singapore as and when he wanted.
Lee Dong Wook mentioned that he liked Singaporean fans because of their warm reception for him and that he was surprised and thankful that so many people were present at the press conference despite the heat. He also added that Singapore made him feel like home, and that it was very comforting, evoking “aww”s from the fans. The host joked that he should return more often, maybe once a week if this was the case, and he replied that he would, if he had the ability to teleport.
When asked about what kinds of dramas he would like to try out in future, he gave the response that since “Goblin” was a fantasy drama, he would like to try a real-life kind of drama. This prompted the host to ask what roles he wished to play and he replied “oh, bad guy?” after hearing the fan’s shouts.

The host also asked him how he managed to maintain his flawless complexion and luscious lips, to which he said that he was born with them. But this was not before exclaiming that it was weird to talk about this topic between men (because the male host asked him this question), making the fans laugh. The host tried to probe further but was stopped with another reply of how men should not be having such conversations.
In response to the question regarding his future schedules, he would be having an Asian tour in July, when he would visit other countries. Thereafter, he would be going for a new drama or film shoot, although it is not confirmed yet whether it would be a movie or a drama. He also agreed to return to Singapore for another fan meet when he finishes his next movie/drama.
As the press conference was coming to an end, Lee Dong Wook thanked the fans for turning up despite the hot weather and hoped that they would look forward to the fan meet (held that night), and said that he really loved all of the fans. We look forward to seeing him again soon!
