[Review] Yoona So Wonderful Day #Story_1 Fanmeet in Singapore

On the 28th of September 2018, Girls’ Generation member and Award-Winning Korean drama actress Im Yoona successfully completed her first official fan meet in Singapore!

Goddess Yoona spent an unforgettable and enjoyable night with over 2000 passionate SONEs with fans from Singapore and neighbouring countries. The moment she walked on stage, her unparalleled beauty left fans star struck, as the venue filled with cheers from SONEs. 

With her sweet, soft vocals, the iconic veteran girl group member serenaded the audience with her successful singles ‘When The Wind Blows’, ‘To You’ and ‘Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway’. Donned in a beautiful floral one-piece dress and coupled with her melodic voice, her stage was so ethereal and dream-like. 

​Yoona also treated fans with a powerful dance performance, which totally contrasted with her previous ‘When The Wind Blows’ and ‘To You’ performance, showing everyone the diversity and charms she has as an artist. 

During the other corners of the fan meet such as the ‘Nowadays Talk’, ‘#Yoongstagram’ and ‘#Do you have any Questions?’ Yoona shared personal stories and updates about her life, including her excitement for her upcoming action film project ‘EXIT’! She even cherry-picked and specially prepared some exclusive photos from her daily life, which included behind-the-scenes photos at work, her travels and food!

Before the show, fans took time to write Yoona messages and questions on post-its for her to read and answer on stage. Displaying her wit and cheekiness, she quickly picked up Singaporean phrases like ‘Shiok’ and ‘Abuden’, joking with fans and the MC for the night as she answered fans’ questions. 

Some of the things she mentioned during the Q&A corner included things like how she liked fruit-scented shampoos and body lotions but for perfumes she goes for more floral scents! Based on another fan’s question, she also said she wants to do anything before she turns 30 and the she’s not really one to dwell on the fact that she’s leaving her 20’s.

Some lucky SONEs even got to play games (charades, telepathy games) and take photos with her during the intimate fan meet, where they were presented prizes personally by Yoona. 

One of the main highlights of the evening was when Yoona learned to make a local delicacy ‘Rojak’! It was evident that she had a loving domestic side to her as she showed fans how familiar she was with using knives and the ease she had when preparing the dish. Lucky winners of the games section were presented with the ‘Rojak’ which she lovingly hand made too!

SONEs prepared a fan event with a special video and banners (with the words "Stay where you are, we'll run to you") showing Yoona's progress as a solo artist and with her members. Touched by the event, Yoona mentioned how she was holding back tears and thanked fans for the constant support they've showed her and her members throughout the years.

Another thing worth mentioning was how in between each corner, entertaining videos of Yoona were shown, where she showed fans different sides of herself, from how she made waffles, to short skits, and to fans’ delight, her members Hyoyeon and Taeyeon even made a cameo in one of the videos!

As the night came to a close, a handwritten message from Yoona was shown on the screen, where she took the time to pen down and express her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering love and support, ending the night on a heart-warming note.
