The great seungri tour 2019
23rd of February 2019, the day V.I.Ps in Singapore were all eagerly anticipating, marks the start of “The Great Seungri’s Tour 2019”, Seung Ri's first ever solo concert in Singapore.
The lights dimmed and the instrumental of BIGBANG’s most recent hit 'BANG BANG BANG' filled the theatre. Hundreds of crowns waved along to the beat and all the fans in the hall chanted Seung Ri's name in unison. He appeared, clad in a stylish brown jacket and started singing and dancing to the chorus of 'BANG BANG BANG', hyping up the audience in accordance to the familiar song.

He then performed, 'Let’s Talk About Love' before having a chat with the fans. Peppering his words with Singlish words like 'la' and 'leh' ("How are you doing la!!!"), he showed off his Singlish accent (and variety skills), evoking laughter among the crowd. Seung Ri continued by saying that Singapore is his favourite country to perform in and he loves the food here, especially the Chilli Crab.
The vocalist mentioned not having initial plans for a solo concert, and made it a point to thank the fans for their continuous support, which made his solo tour possible. On a less serious note, he also imitated TOP’s rap in 'BANG BANG BANG', jokingly dissing his fellow member by saying that although he was Korean himself, he could not understand what TOP was saying in the rap. 'It's too fast!' he quipped. However, he agreed that the melody and beat were what makes up a good song.

Seungri serenaded the fans with a cover of Jay Chou’s ballad, 'The Longest Movie' catching everyone by surprise. While hitting the notes perfectly, he was also fluent in his pronunciation. Next up was 'GG Be', followed by the next segment - what Seungri found on Google.
"Here's what I found on Google!", he said while gesturing to the screen. The entire audience collectively burst into laughter as an image of Dae Sung with green hair took up half of the LCD screen on stage, while the other half showed celery. The resemblance was uncanny. These were followed by other hilarious photos of his fellow BIGBANG members with questionable hairstyles, compared with various objects and animals.

Tae Yang's hairstyle was likened to Kimbap ("Isn't it so traditional?"), and GD's to Tamago Sushi ("I love Sushi, but I couldn't eat Tamago for a while after looking at this") and a feather duster ("He took 13 hours of dyeing to achieve this shade!"). The photo he chose of himself was similar to an adorable kitten that had fans saying "aww", but he too, showed his unglamorous shots. "I hate these photos so much!", he commented, "These were on Tae Yang's Kakao profile for months and I had to look at them EVERY TIME I messaged him. WHY?!" It was good to see another side of the members unlike their charismatic appearance on stage, where they still joked around with each other like brothers.
Seungri took the stage again, this time with many BIGBANG hit songs. He had everyone standing up, cheering and jamming to 'We Like 2 Party', 'Bae Bae' , 'My Heaven', 'Hands Up' and even the old time favourite, 'Lies'. While the atmosphere was at it's all time high, he with more upbeat songs like 'Good Boy' , 'Crooked' and '1,2,3'.
Next up was his cover of fellow BIGBANG member,Taeyang’s 'Eyes Nose Lips' where he got the audience to turn on their phone’s flashlights and wave in accordance to the ballad. It was a mesmerising sight, to say the least, as he sang amongst a glittery ocean of flashlights. He ended this segment with BIGBANG’s last song as a group before their enlistment, 'Flower Road'.
Seungri then stopped to have a final chat with the audience and was extremely grateful, “Please, stay with me and thank you V.I.Ps for supporting our music since the start”. He thanked Singapore V.I.Ps for being amazing hosts and for a memorable concert before returning backstage. V.I.Ps yelled and chanted his name for an encore and he reappeared soon after with his first ever solo song, 'Strong Baby', followed by 'Fantastic Baby' and he did an amazing job hyping the crowd out, with everyone shouting the lyrics to the song.
Regretfully, Seungri introduced his last song for the concert but also told the fans to anticipate more BIGBANG albums next year, and to wait for their return as a group. Fans can look forward to a "louder BIGBANG".

He ended the concert with the final song, 'In My World', an emotional ballad and thereafter came from backstage holding a Singapore flag, waving it around with pride and doing bows to thank the audience. Once again, he mentioned that he was really grateful for such loyal fans, he loves Singapore and will be back again, before he disappeared back stage for the last time.
