Viu no sleep no fomo launch party
Just last week, Viu held their 'No Sleep No Fomo Launch Party', featuring Korean-American singer and host Eric Nam, Running Man's Kim Jong Kook, Alexander Lee Eusebio, Benjamin Kheng, Nat Ho, Paul Foster, Hana Tam, Laureen Uy, Taya Rogers and Kevin Woo as the cast of the all-new variety show, No Sleep No Fomo. The cast revealed the filming process and inside stories and also participated in several games live on stage, giving a sneak preview of what fans can expect from the show.
When asked about their most memorable challenge in the show, Eric Nam started off with, "So we did A LOT", but chose 'Crashing a Wedding' (with Paul Foster), with no hesitation, since it was something he hadn't done before. He also evoked laughter when he apologetically added, "I ended up talking really bad things about my mother (during the stand up comedy segment). I'm really sorry Mum, I love you so much, it was in the name of comedy, love you Mum". Kim Jong Kook joined the Hong Kong episode for ten hours, and tried Snake Soup, which he strongly recommended for the fans. On the other hand, Alexander felt that his greatest challenge was having to actually stay awake for 60 hours, and he feels that nothing's ever going to be tough for him any more since then.
Nat Ho and Laureen Uy both chose snowboarding in South Korea, while Hana Tam chose jumping into a waterfall as it challenged her fear of heights, while also revealing that Paul pushed her to her limits morally (Paul: "not physically, I didn't push her down").

Alexander also shared about his experience while Skinny Dipping, while Jong Kook mentioned that he initially thought Alexander was simply a "Pretty Boy" but he was proven wrong when they filmed together.
The cast also talked about how it was like to film with literally no sleep, and Eric Nam immediately quipped 'It's like being drunk, without being drunk.' As for his advice to coping with lack of sleep? 'It's coffee for me. Coffee and positive energy.' He then recounted not having coffee while shooting for the show, "We had fifteen minutes and I wanted to close my eyes but they turned on loud music" before he did a hilarious reenactment of them dancing to the music. Alexander also mentioned that 'if there's something scary you have to do, just don't sleep. Because that's when you'd be drowsy or whatever, then it's the time that you can do it!"

When asked about who he would nominate for the show and if he would participate in the show again, Eric Nam made everyone laugh when he replied with an uncertain "Uhmmmm, would I do it again? I would have to mentally prepare myself a lot more and train myself. But Paul's done 8 of this so I should be able to do it too." He also added that it did give him many opportunities to try new things and it was a great way to see the world. As to who he would nominate? "Somebody who would actually do well on this show is actually Amber, she's like a fitness warrior and does not say no to ANYTHING".
Following this was the next segment, where the cast tried their hand at various missions on stage, simulating their various challenges overseas. It was an intense war of nerves as Team No Sleep and Team Fomo pitted themselves against one another. The first challenge involved learning the dance of the chorus of a song voted by the audience, before having to perform it on stage with their team. Twice's TT won the vote and they had a few minutes to learn the dance moves on stage.
While most of them were struggling with the dance steps, they also did not hesitate to show their enthusiasm in dancing. Eric showed off his flossing skills and cute expressions. Kim Jong Kook looked visibly embarrassed and used Alexander as a human shield, yet also gave his all when it was his group's turn to dance. Team No Sleep won the first round, based off louder cheers from the audience (although Eric Nam did cheekily motion for the fans to quieten down when the host asked for cheers for Team Fomo).

The next mission was to eat the most number of lemons and it was hilarious to see their faces scrunched up due to the extreme sourness. Both teams did exceedingly well, but Team Fomo won with 88 lemon rinds! The final mission involved chugging two gigantic cups of the favourite local beverage, Milo, with Alexander representing Team No Fomo, and there was only a narrow margin between the winning teams, but Team No Sleep ultimately won!
The event ended with a lucky draw, where three lucky winners won exclusive prices ranging from the new Samsung phone to a free trip to Korea! The cast stayed on stage to take photos before waving goodbye and we hope to see them again soon!
